History of Pilates
Joseph Pilates brought his innovative fitness technique known as Contrology to New York in 1926 after relocating from Germany. His method was popularized with NYC ballet dancers that were dealing with injuries and continues today in both rehab and fitness. His principles focus on breathing, alignment, precision, control, and posture. Many professionals continue to update his concepts using evidence-based research and new methods.
